Sowing the seeds of...

Well hey friend! I bet the first word that came to your mind was love, right? :)

Now that I have you singing, I'd say we are getting off to a good start!

Let me tell ya something...
I never in a million years thought I would find myself here...

Sitting at my desk
Behind my computer screen
Fingers poised on my keyword
Attempting to write a blog...

No wait...
Not attempting...

Writing a blog post.

Yes, I have dabbled in this before, but this time is different.
Or it will be different. Or it can be different.

If I can learn how to be a good steward of the things that God has entrusted me with.

IF... one of the littlest words in the English language, but it can feel really big and scary sometimes.
Don't let it stand in your way.

Welcome to...

It has a name, it has a picture, that makes it real :) You will also quickly realize I am not an eloquent writer, I am not always grammatically correct, and for some reason I really like using these three little dots all the time... (an ellipsis is the proper term).

Anyway... ;)

In an effort to keep these short and sweet (FYI, they may not all be short or sweet),
here is your first seed. We will expand on this and many other topics in the weeks to come. :)

-----//----

You are given so many opportunities (seeds) in this life;
what do you do with them?

Do you plant them in fertile soil, but then walk away never to tend them again?
Do you plant them in rocky soil and wonder why they don't grow?
Do you plant them and expect that someone else will do the work to help them grow?

See, that verse from 2 Corinthians (the one up there is the picture) is so uber encouraging... who doesn't like the thought of having their seeds multiply and seeing an increase in their harvest, right?!

But...I hate to burst your bubble, friend... that doesn't just happen on its own. So what is the missing link?

Stewardship...
"Utilizing and managing all resources God provides for the glory of God and the betterment of His creation."

In my opinion, we have become a people (not all people, just generally speaking) who tend to pass the responsibility off to someone else. We want to reap all the rewards, but we want someone else to do all the utilizing, managing, and tending.... aka, the hard work.

Are YOU being a good steward of the seeds that you have been entrusted with?
Are YOU tending to them, caring for them, and cultivating them?
Are YOU being diligent and consistent with doing the little things each day that lead to growth?

Oh, I could continue...
But I am going to let you sit with that for a bit.

If YOU are one who is wanting to be a become a better steward over your mind, your money, your body, your (you fill in the blank)... then I would love for you to stick around!

Every week or so a new post will drop and we will learn together how to become better stewards over all the resources we have been given... I say 'learn together' because I don't have all the answers.

In the meantime, I would love for you to grab my Guide to Stewarding Your Mind, Body, and Money. This will give you a little taste of what we will be 'digging' into here. (See what I did there?!?)

Until next time... Blessings!

PS: See that comments section down there, right under this post... I would love for you to use it! Tell me what you think, what you want to chat about, and if you want to be real, what areas you are struggling with... we are in this together, remember?

  2. Do you guys know how many times I read through this post before publishing? I don't either because I lost count after about 129...

Clearly, I should have read it one more time...

My fingers were poised on my keyBOARD... not on my keyword...

Just keeping things real over here!
  3. Sweet Anna, thank you so much for being such an encouragement to me! I am humbled to be a small part of confirming just what you needed to hear... God has an amazing way of orchestrating things, events, and even blog posts at just the perfect time.
  4. Nicole!! So...the heart of this message of YOU DO is a sweet confirmation to about twenty five similar messages I've been receiving as I've been open to this next stage of my personal growth.

Your blog is beautiful and the message is so needed and welcomed.

I also enjoy the ... and all the "punny" ways you will write.

    Hugs and love,
    Anna
